Day 2 - Things have finally taken off

Well, thats the end of Day 2 and unfortunately thats the end of the weekend too. I'm not sure how much time I'll get to focus on this challenge in the next week but things have took off since yesterday's poor start.

After 7 tabling earlier (see FPP's post) I decided to load up another 14 tables combined with $0.25 45 man and $0.10 games. I used the T$ for this and played my heart out. I managed to cash in 5 of the games, picking up a min cash for $0.20 in one of the $0.10 games and finishing 24th in another for $0.30.

Once I was KO'd out of the 360's my focus was on the last 6 45 man SNG's. I was fairly deep in these (down to last 15 players) and I dreamt of shipping all 6 but it wasn't to be. I was KO'd in 3 of them prior to the final table and took the other 3 to the final tables with relatively short stacks. I managed to battle through though to record 3rd and 4th place finishes and I thought christmas had come early when shipping the final game for $3.52. LOL I know these are the microest of micro stakes but I always enjoy winning any game, who cares what stakes.

So my cash bankroll has moved onto $11.99 and my T$ balance is currently 8.40 for a combined total of $20.39.

Now that is the start I'm talking about.

Peace out y'all.

Putting the FPP's to Good Use

Well I entered into the 70fpp 10 man satellite to the 1/4 million and also the 210 fpp 20 man satellite. I finished 3rd in the 10 man which was worth nowt and managed to claim a top 6 place in the 20 man to qualify for the 1/4 million. I immediately unregistered from that and now have T$11.00 to start me off quite nicely.

Back to the tables for now :-)

EDIT: Just finished 7 tabling - cashed for $11 as outlined above and a 4th place in a $0.25 tournament for $1.40. Got it in with AQ vs KQ and he binks a K on river. Can't argue really because it was folded to me on the button with around 7 BB's and I shoved my AQ into the BB's QQ and turned an Ace to set me up for the final table.

I have $5.53 in cash and T$11.00 for a total bankroll of $16.53

In summary, I still feel I have a lot more to give on the poker front, I don't feel on top of my game right now but I have to be generally pleased with the start.

Day 1

Well, I'm up and running and have moved my roll onto an unimpressive $5.08. 8 cents profit! I'll call that a break even session. It all started so well with the FL Holdem cash games booking a profit of a little less than a $1 in that. The losses came from 12 tabling $0.25 and $0.10 sit n gos. I think I only managed one cash in 4th place in a 45 man game, and to be honest running bad and playing bad really is the reason for the poor start.

How it looks after Day 1:

FL Holdem $0.02/$0.04

$0.93

$0.10 360 man SNG's

($0.50)

$0.25 45 man SNG's

($0.35)

Boku87 Challenge

Hi all, long time no blog. I've recently ran around $3 that I had left in my account upto around $110 before donking it all off 10-tabling well out of my bankroll. I thought what the hell, it all started from $3 lets take my chances. I ran sooo bad and played tired - not good.

So here I am again. Starting out at $5 and attempting the Boku87 challenge. Basically for those who don't know Boku87 is a German Poker Player who is attempting to turn $5 into $100,000 in less than a year. Whilst I have no chance of making anywhere near $100,000 I'm going to try and at least build a bankroll from $5. I will be blogging about this one this time and the original plan is to play $0.10 360 man and $0.25 45 man games on PStars together with $0.02/$0.04 FL Holdem. I will be playing anywhere from 6-12 tables and this won't allow much risk without the possibility of going broke. Hey Boku87 busted his first $5 and started over, so I would do too.

If this teaches me one thing it will be hard work, patience and discipline.

I hope this is going to be a good ride and hopefully you stay tuned - PS for those who are attempting this themselves, I will need your help and support.

There are no other attaches to this other than the 270 fpp's I have in my acct.

Quitting Work In January 2010

It's official! I'll be leaving my 9 to 5 job in January to embark on a new adventure. I will be travelling South America for 6 weeks and hitting countries such as Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru before jetting over to New Zealand for 3 weeks and then onto Australia. A super exciting time for me and one that I just can't wait to begin. It's a shame to leave such a great bunch of people behind but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

Vegas A No Go?

Hello all. Wow I haven't posted in 4 months! Time has flown over I must admit. I have some good news to report regards to Tom who is now a father to be. Congrats bro! On the other hand, Vegas in 2011 really doesn't look promising. All his savings will rightly be spent on the little one. Vegas will either have to be postponed or cancelled. As for poker, I'm well and truly back on the scene. Well, in actual fact I've never been off the scene, just been doing things behind closed doors as it were and not posting.

There was a tremendous promotion on Full Tilt called the Take 2 that requires you to play on 2 cash tables simultaneously and when you earn 1 point per day you qualify for the following:

Level 1 - Complete 5 days = $5
Level 2 - Complete 10 days = $15
Level 3 - Complete 15 days = $25
Level 4 - Complete 25 days = $50

I managed to reach level 3 for a cool $25 which is a nice boost for the bankroll.

The Vegas savings fund....what shall I do with that? Stay tuned to find out......

Peace out.

End of an Era

This isn't intended to be a dramatic post in any way shape or form but I felt the need to close down this blog. When I say close down I mean I just won't be posting on it. I no longer have the time nor playing consistency to make this worthwhile. I will keep the blog though I think. Vegas in 2011 will be a terrific adventure and I would like to revert back to this then. I will probably post the odd topic on life in general.

We'll see what happens as they say.

Thanks for all comments and best of luck in the game.
